I'm playing for all three major musicals in Hamburg: Der König der Löwen / The Lion King (Elton John) at the Theater im Hafen, Tarzan(Phil Collins) at the Neue Flora Theater, andsoon Sister Act from Whoopi Goldberg at the Operettenhaus.
In 2009 I formed a duo called Ball & Jabara with the extraordinary actress and singer Franziska Ball of Munich. We are currently presenting two new programs. The first is Menschenskinder! - Ich bin von Kopf bis Fuß auf Wickeln eingestellt. This "mini-musical" combines familiar melodies, witty parody lyrics and biting social commentary about parenting, sexual politics and other household hazards.
The second and newest program is Glamour & l'Amour, a luxurious evening of film melodies and love songs with the songstress and diva Lore Leysamer and her usually obedient accompanist Oscar Krause. We had our premiere at the Komödie im Bayerischen Hof in Munich on May 7, 2011. Along with our two other programs - Hildegard Knef - eine Femmage and Chanson d'amour fou - we are appearing in theaters across Europe. A tapestry of pulsating rhythm, evocative harmony and reflective songtexts, The Source explores the breadth of my musical experience: R&B, pop, world, blues and jazz.
